About

Who writes Smart Order Flow Trading, why it is free, and what it will never try to sell you.

A building contractor who learned to read the tape

My name is Chriss Rakoot. I am not a fund manager, I have never worked on a trading desk, and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

I trained as an industrial engineering and maintenance engineer. Then my father retired, and I took over the construction business he had built. I have been a building contractor since I was 22. I am 51 now, with four sons at home, and these days I run the company from a desk: studies, quotes, site follow-up.

Trading came into it in 2021. Covid had stalled the business, work was thin, and I had time I had not asked for. I used it to learn. I joined Benjamin Deleuze’s group, then trained with Sébastien Barca at Impact Trading. What followed were two years of ups and downs, which is the honest description of most people’s first two years.

Things only started to make sense in 2023. I stopped treating Smart Money Concepts and order flow as rival methods and started reading them together. Structure tells you where the market is likely to turn. The tape tells you when, and whether anyone is actually defending the level. Neither half is enough on its own, and most of the confusion I see online comes from people who have only been taught one of them.

That is when I started writing this down.

What this site is

Smart Order Flow Trading is a free, written curriculum on how US futures markets are read: market structure, liquidity, order blocks, fair value gaps, footprint charts, the depth of market, cumulative delta, session behavior, risk, and the psychology that decides whether any of it survives contact with a live account.

It is written the way an engineer writes a procedure. Define the mechanism, show it working, then say plainly where it fails. An idea that only works in a hand-picked screenshot does not belong in a lesson.

What this site is not

Futures trading carries a substantial risk of loss, and most retail traders lose money. I would rather say that on the first page than bury it in a footer.

How the material is produced

Every lesson is written and approved by me. There is no anonymous content team behind this site. Articles carry a publication date and, once revised, a visible update date. The full working method, including the position on sponsorship, affiliate links, and writing tools, is set out in the Editorial Policy.

If you find an error, tell me. The address is below, and corrections get made regardless of who reports them.

Who publishes it

The site is published by NET STUDIO LLC.

Editorial responsibility rests with me, Chriss Rakoot, not with the publisher. You can find every lesson I have written on my author page.
